粉末喷涂是用喷粉设备（静电喷塑机）把粉末涂料喷涂到工件的表面，在静电作用下，粉末会均匀的吸附于工件表面，形成粉状的涂层；粉状涂层经过高温烘烤流平固化，变成效果各异（粉末涂料的不同种类效果）的最终涂层；粉末喷涂的喷涂效果在机械强度、附着力、耐腐蚀、耐老化等方面优于喷漆工艺。

粉末喷涂利用静电喷涂的原理把干燥粉末状物吸附在金属铝型材上经过200℃以上高温烧烤后粉状物固化成为一层约60微米厚坚固光亮的涂层。使产品表面平整光滑色泽均匀具极强的耐酸性、耐碱性、耐撞性、耐磨损能长期经受强烈紫外辐射和酸雨的侵蚀不出现涂层粉化、褪色、脱落等现象。粉末喷涂铝型材在正常条件下使用寿命达30年。其表面涂层在5-10年内保证不褪色、不变色、不龟裂。其耐候性及而腐蚀性均优于普通铝材颜色多样化。

由静电发生装置产生的高电压，低电流使位于喷枪前部的电极针在空气中放电，当粉末经枪头喷嘴喷出的时候，粉末颗粒就带上了电荷，通过静电吸附和气流输送的双重作用而到达已经接地的工件表面。

By the high voltage produced by the electrostatic generator, the low current causes the electrode needle in the front of the spray gun to discharge in the air. When the powder is sprayed through the nozzle of the gun head, the powder particles are charged with the powder, and it reaches the surface of the ground which has been grounded by the double action of electrostatic adsorption and air flow.

喷枪能够产生足够的电压以保证最大程度的涂覆效果，最大电压可达100kV，当喷涂内角或深腔部位的时候，喷枪可以有效地克服法拉第笼效应，保证工件各个被要求喷涂的表面都能达到良好的覆盖和均匀的膜厚。
